Eastern Railroad Discussion > Railroading a matter of ABCingDate: 12/08/12 08:46 Railroading a matter of ABCing Author: agrafton ABC Railway a division od W&LE based in Barberton, Ohio has a connection on the New Castle Sub at BG135 and gets of at bridge 16 at BG132.
At BG132 behind the old Firestone Plant in South Akron they maintain a small yard for assembling trains coming and going I stopped by the other day early morning and caught ABC putting together a train for delivery to a plastics firm in Barberton. In the first photo 1501 is pulling a cut of cars out to switch to adjacent track as a crew works on one of the switches and tie replacement. Also Carter Storage’s little all American engine is working their portion of the yard too. From there I headed to Barberton to catch the 1501 at Ravago the plastics holding and transfer facility. From there becoming overcast I head back. Thanks, Alan Photos marked accordingly: photo 1 1501 pulls a cut of cars out while assembling a train photo 2 Carter Storage’s little all American engine photo 3 1501 back past a crew working on a switch Date: 12/08/12 08:48 Re: Railroading a matter of ABCing Author: agrafton photo 4 ABC and Carter share a photo together

Right now here in Barberton, I can hear them switching. Me and a friend followed this train last weekend, we got good shots of the SW1500, but the crew was anything but happy about us taking photos of their train.
