Not fond of the nose color scheme, but other than that looks great.

Anybody know where these units are going to work?

These will be used by GE as warranty protection units, i.e. to be provided while locomotives are shopped.

I have no detailed info, but UP's entire last order of ES44AC's was (and maybe still is) parked with warranty issues. They could be headed that way.

I'm wondering how they are set up. Are they equipped with any specific railroads cab signals. They don't yet appear to have the PTC antennas yet but it looks like the bases where the NS and BNSF style antennas are mounted. Nice pictures! Thanks for sharing!

Do dead-in-tow locomotive movements require any typical operating restrictions -- speed, maximum number of allowable units, consist placement, etc?

15 Units 1200-1214 and like Bill said used as GE's warranty protection power

That face (i.e., front of the loco) reminds me of a walrus with all those whiskers. However, on the plus side, a motorist should have no problem spotting one of these coming at them at a grade crossing. At any rate, this new color scheme adds some more variety to the North American railroad scene, something we can use more of.

just a FYI these units are not owned by CIT the longtime locomotive leasing company that uses CEFX and CITX reporting marks. This is a totally different company 100% confirmed by a friend at CIT.

However, to make things alittle murkier, in the late 90's CIT was part of CITIGROUP. But they were spun off inthe late 90' or early 2K's

CREX ES44AC's are actually 1201-1215.

CREX C40-8's are currently moving to CN shops and becoming CN 2000-2041 (CREX 9023-9064 should be in order). There they join the rest of the original CNW C40-8 fleet which are CN 2100-2134.
