Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS O99 export engines to Indonesia and BrazilDate: 03/03/13 12:08 NS O99 export engines to Indonesia and Brazil Author: RNinRVR On Tuesday afternoon I was shooting from the porch of the Station Inn and heard a O99 coming and had no idea what this train was and it surprised me with export engines on flats. The double ended units going to Indonesia were on their trucks while the Vale units were on blocks and their trucks were on flats behind them. It is impressive to see the size difference between the 2 types of engines as they go by.
This first shot shows standard cab SD70 2524 which is leading this train. Next is D9-40C 8885 trailing as the road power of O99. Now is a shot of one of the Indonesian units Sharon Evans Glen Allen, VA Date: 03/03/13 12:17 Re: NS O99 export engines to Indonesia and Brazil Author: RNinRVR Next is a shot of one of the Vale units.
Now the Vale unit's trucks bring up the rear. Finally is the video of this train as it passes the Station Inn. Sharon Evans Glen Allen, VA You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Question: What is that tunnel entrance going under the tracks in the last part of the video? Date: 03/06/13 07:16 Re: NS O99 export engines to Indonesia and Brazil Author: bert14 The tunnel under the tracks......
Back in the day, Cresson was a station stop for the PRR Railroad, and The Station Inn was a railroad hotel... The tunnel provided safe passage for folks to cross the mainline and get on/off trains. To this day, it is used regularly by townsfolk to get about town......and safely cross the NS three track Mainline....
