After sitting in Buffalo for over 7 hours, a very short NS train 309 with the NS 8100, with the NKP heritage unit leading, finally headed west. The weather was very changeable, heavy snow that didnt stick, bright Sun, dark clouds and constant wind.....it seemed like it changed every 5 minutes. Heres the 309 heading west through Blasdell NY, running 16 minutes behind the 23K and 9 minutes ahead of empty hopper train 533. Railfan luck, the 533 train went through in bright sunshine....where was that sunshine 9 minutes earlier ?
