CSX Q351, Wings leading, Selkirk Branch Action
Author: Harron

Headed west from Selkirk at 5:15 pm this afernoon (no merchandise trains leaving after 4, eh? - well the crew was called earlier, heard them on the scanner starting around 3:30). UP 4670 and 9222 as sole power with a VERY long train.

Had been on the Selkirk Branch at Old State Rd since about noon. Saw numerous eastbounds, and only two westbounds, first one at about 4:00 at Old State Rd (autoracks, CEFX 3141 leader, FURX 3008 trail), and the 352. One other interesting consist had GCFX 3059 in the lead. They were really moving them into the yard today, trying to finish up a lot of the jobs I suppose.

Figure the reason they may have moved the 351 was to get the UP power headed west and off the property sooner.

Last Sunday Q351 made it through Deshler about 6am, that's about seven hours ahead of what it usually runs. Nobody believed me that I saw it that early, but as the night wore on and there was no sign of it, they became believers. :)
