Not being an Eastern RRer, however, I can tell you that we got a LOT of those on the UPRR. And there was just something about them, between there extra weight and that extra 300 HP? That made them pack a HECK of a PUNCH!!! I.E., they are "hotrods." And to be honest with you, I preferred them greatly over the UPRR's own SD9043ACs. Which had the same HP but not quite the weight. I LOVE those units!!!

The SD70MAC's have been derated to 4000hp now as well.
