Eastern Railroad Discussion > 8105 Interstate heading East

The Interstate unit is heading East on the Conemaugh Line on a 64R this morning, past West Tarentum at 9:10. A 64x is about a hour behind him with the Reading, no word yet on which route out of Pgh., but, I hope the Comemaugh.

Appreciate the update....we are in Lewistown PA and was hoping to catch those.

By the time these trains get to Lewistown, the light angles there are going to be rather harsh. If you want good light on them, I suggest you either move west toward Huntingdon/Mount Union or plan on shooting them in the afternoon east of Lewistown (Mifflin/Port Royal or Millerstown, if not farther). Only toward sunset will you have decent light, on the west side of town passing the yard, for eastbounds after noontime in Lewistown.

Presumably, this means "in emergency".

The late-afternoon eastbound shot at the Lewistown yard may yet work!

Yep, based on the latest HU.com OS's through Lilly, Lewistown Yard appears to be the place to be this afternoon, assuming the sun is out.

Seems like lately they have been running more and more of these up the Conemaugh Line as opposed to the Pgh or Mon Lines.

Thanks...that is where we got them...light faded fast and had some shadows to work around. It was neat to see two in a row w h units on the front.
