As a sign man, I can tell you that what you are looking at is application tape over the vinyl. I can only guess that they are leaving it on for now to keep that white vinyl underneath "white" as long as possible. The paint scheme may look all blue ( and bland ) from a distance, but it sure looks impressive from the close up shots. Kyle

Yep, they're masked. Will be unveiled in KC on the 14th along with the cauldron car that will carry the Olympic Flame towards Salt Lake City for the winter games. Lame, plain, whatever--it's for the Olympics, games that don't have the "magic" they once did. They are however, a different scheme for us to enjoy in these times when there are fewer and fewer unique corporate/rail paint schemes.
