Pittsburgh fly-by
Author: JPB

Made a pilgrimage to Pennsylvania Trolley Museum & Rock Hill Trolley Museum a couple weekends ago. We rode Pittsburgh light rail from South Hills Village to Station Square and return with a side trip up and down the Monongahela Incline (PAT light rail's steep grades and tight curvature make Boston's Riverside trolley line seem like rapid transit!).

Also did a little railfanning in Rotterdam, NY on the way and on the return home. On a sunny Saturday we have a recently repainted CSX C40-8 heading east. Three days later in the evening gloom, a C40-8W wide cab cousin with a wb ML speeds over the CP's Binghamton-Schenectady line. Nine minutes later, CP train 252 accelerates south in the rain toward Binghamton.
