CSX Eastern KY ?????
Author: RustyRayls

Well old Chuchubobnv is headed over to the right side of the country again. CSX has a line that runs along the south side of the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Huntington WV. Does this line get much traffic? What subdivision is it? Is it a good prospect for some railfanning? Does anyone have a ETT for this area? We are also considering the Pokey from Kenova down to Welch (we did Bluefield to Welch a couple years ago and had a ball!). This is going to be the last field trip before retirement!

As always, all information is greatly appreciated

This is the Cincinnati Sub (ex-C&O). It's not a terribly busy line, maybe 12 in a 24 hour period. Traffic includes Cincinnati - Russell, KY manifests Q313/Q319/Q320, some K-series unit steel trains between Ashland, KY and Middletown, OH, and unit coal trains. Amtrak's Cardinal runs this line 3x a week. Here's a link to more info: http://www.cincyrails.com/corussell.htm

Edit: The line gets a lot busier east of Portsmouth, OH where the line from Toledo and Columbus join in.

You also get the TTI coming in to Maysville KY but i have no idea how much they are running these days with the coal market cratering.

TTI...not TTE.

Transkentucky Transportation Railroad Inc.

Runs from Paris KY to a coal loadout on the Ohio River
at Maysville KY. A few customers enroute. Hurt badly
by the coal market decline.

Appalachianrails - Were you asking about the initials ETT? If so chuchubob was asking about an Employee Timetable.
