CSX 677 CW60AC to be scrapped
Author: NWRailfan

I'm hearing that the units involved recently in the wreck in Franklin, VA on CSX's Portsmouth Sub after a switch was tampered with and left to derail the oncoming train will result with CSX 677 being cut up on site. It was heavily damaged by fire and was on its side.

Sounds like a bad incident. Hope there were no severe injuries or fatalities.

A local news article reports the crew was treated and released.

Talking of wrecked CSX units, anyone know what is happening to AC4400CW #320, which was wrecked early last year in that 3-way pileup at Suman In? This too had heavy fire and collision damage and last I heard it was still lingering at Barr Yard, Riverdale, IL. My £$ is on them scrapping it.

CSXT 320 is not in the railroad's database anymore...so I suspect it will be scrapped. However, 677 is still in the database, just showing out of service.
