Eastern Railroad Discussion > Anyone Got Shots of Alco's still in Service?Date: 01/04/02 10:45 Anyone Got Shots of Alco's still in Service? Author: superfleet As a long-time big fan of the Alco diesels, I never saw any in real life here in Kansas; I've made the pilgrimage to see the fine units being excellently maintained on the Arkansas and Missouri, but that's about it.. Could you guys with the capability please post some Alco's that are still out there doing their best to keep the revenue rolling! Dates and locations would be wonderful...

http://www.lalrr.com/photos.html You don't even have to go to NYC (but you should! It's not that scary but it's not Kansas). Author: HoosierVirg On the Louisville, New Albany & Corydon in southern Indiana(home of the RDCs) there are quite a few Alcos, here is #900 Alco RS-36 which started out as a D&H unit then Iowa Interstate and now running on the LNA&C. Have a good and safe day.

I'll have to check my notes, but I think she was bought without the telephone pole. In this shot, she just went to work in 2001, I'm thinking, in the summer.

Date: 01/04/02 18:19 Whereabouts of LRS #131 Author: jch9596 Does anyone know the current whereabouts of Laurinburg & Southern S2 #131, seen above in Chris's shot? I last saw her in July, 2001 in Laurinburg, but have not seen her since. I really like this one, but am worried that it's ultimately going to scrap.
Nice shot, by the way, Chris. When Isaw her in Raeford, Aberdeen & Rockfish GP7 #205 was sitting nearby. Joe H. Date: 01/04/02 22:59 RE: Anyone Got Shots of Alco's still in Service? Author: BandOblades http://communities.msn.ca/RidingthelastAlcos
