Herzog work train MPM XVII at work today

I caught the Herzog 184 at work today on the NS Cleveland Line picking up 300' pieces of scrap rail. There was a welder's vehicle ahead of the train cutting up the ribbon rail making sure the rail was is 300' sections or less. Was a neat operation to watch. Plus NS was busy running east bounds about every 15 minutes. They were working around the 81-83 MP.

This unit is supposedly a re-built GP38 (extensively)

Yes, the power unit sure sounded like a GP38.
