Recent GA Outings
Author: Vanakatherock

It has been a couple of weeks since I posted, so I figured I'd bundle together my most recent three outings here in Georgia.

NS 27A heads north through Jenkinsburg, GA back on 01/26/2014.

NS 281 heading south didn't want to stop for a smoke break.

NS 66X heads north with the NS Veterans unit needing a bath.

A look at 66x going around the curve in Jenkinsburg.

On 01/31/2014, the City of Locust Grove, GA held the ribbon cutting ceremony for the train platform. I'd estimate somewhere around 50-60 people showed up. Since schools were still closed because of the snow & ice build up (no jokes please), there were quite a few kids here for the 2:00PM ceremony.

That is Mayor Robert Price in the middle with the scissors.

And the ribbon has been cut.

Our first train past the platform after the ribbon was cut is NS 322.

Some of the kids taking in the view of 322 passing by the platform.

After most of the visitors to the platform had left, train 276 came by with a UP GEVO leading the charge.

 NS 276.

Not the best photo in the world, but CSX local switching job A759 works the Conyers, GA industry on Friday night (01/31/2014).

NS 732 heads south to Plant Scherer in Juliette, GA as the sun is getting lower in the sky.

A look at the coal loads coming around the curve.
