government bureaucrat. pushed the right buttons, made the right friends, and moved up the ladder.

I don't believe he's ever held a private sector job, managed a payroll, had to deal with government inspectors and hiring rules, etc

Every one of them lie about something, either to get elected,or after the fact. Not one of them is immune to that trick.
