NS 1074 Lackawanna Heritage Unit across Michigan today
Author: Ron

The NS 1074 - The NS Lackawanna Heritage Locomotive passed through Battle Creek, Michigan, today, Wednesday, April 23, 2014, en route to Canada on CN Train M394 with the CN 2600 CN 2442 and NS 1074, all facing east.

To the best of my knowledge this is the first of the NS Heritage Locomotives to pass through Battle Creek on the CN.

The train arrived in Battle Creek about 1:30PM and departed about 2:00PM, and went to Canada through the Saint Clair River Tunnel between Port Huron, Michigan, and Sarnia, Ontario, arriving in Sarnia a little after 7:00PM tonight.

What will happen with it now ....is a very good question. I have a couple sources that will try to keep tabs on it, but only time will tell. The next big question is what will happen with it when it comes back through the tunnel into Michigan!

The attached video is the train arriving Battle Creek this afternoon and is shown about 5 or 6 miles west of the CN Yard, here in Battle Creek. The two photographs are of the NS 1074, from the video about to cross over the Upton Avenue Bridge and the other is at the east end of the yard while they change crews.
