NS SD9M Rebuild Status

What is the status on these units being rebuilt in Altoona? Which ones have been released as rebuilt? Are all units going to be repainted w/ the framestripes? Thanks!

I can confirm that the 53, 54 and 56 have been overhauled at Altoona. They were repainted and now have frame stripes, but have lost their pilot stripes. The 55 is in Altoona now.

We probably should call the current work on the NS SD9Ms an overhaul, not a rebuild. Rebuild is a term that is probably used too often. A rebuild is a major series of modifications, while an overhaul is just a reconditioning of components.
