Is the Riverline Cab Signalled?
Author: Pj

Is the River line in New York cab signalled? I know that most of the CR lines in the Northeast are, but I ask this because I saw a pic of a UP engine leading on the line. I am going to take a trip out that way, and would love to see some foreign power leading...

If it is, how could the UP unit lead?

The Riverline (now River Subdivision) is not cab signalled. The other side of the river, the original NYC main, now the Hudson Sub, is cab signalled.

The Selkirk-Buffalo freight main isn't cab signalled, either. The Hudson Line, Boston Line, Pittsburgh Line, and Amtrak/commuter agency trackage make it seem like a lot of the Northeast is cab signalled, but in reality the majority isn't.
