I spent three days at the beginning of the week photographing the DL. Monday they ran a grain train with an M-630, C-636 combo. On Tuesday PT98 got four units led by M-420 #2045. Then on Wednesday five four-motor units hauled grain up to the Summit.

Here are the shots of Tuesday's PT98 eastbound at Pocono Summit and westbound at Cresco.

Nicely done! Three worthwhile days there, I'd say!

Not only did I score some good photos, the motel made me "Guest of the Day" on Monday. They presented me with a bag of Doritos, a Snickers bar and a package of Trail Mix. Kinda like winning the lottery - Scranton style.

Cool steam era shot. Even more interesting is the CNR wood reefer ahead of the caboose. There's been a debate about how extensively Canadian reefer cars operated in the U.S.

Wonderful video and love those Alco's. Wish it were longer.

Re your video clip . . . can't be much better than this . . . nicely painted Alco's, the black exhaust, the horn sounds and the jointed rail . . . . could be 50 years ago . . thanks for the post!
