Former C&O Toledo-Columbus line question??
Author: Contax645

I would like to photograph this line in the near future. Anyone out there happen to know where old C&O era signal bridges still exist?

Or am I too late and they have all been removed? Hope not. Thank you in advance.

There are still plenty of them, but CSX is gradually mowing them down.

C&O-style signal bridges I know of are still in use at both ends of MA on the north side of Marion; Crawford, Carey, "East End B&O Center Siding" in Fostoria, both ends of North Yard in Fostoria, and then an almost continuous string up to Lemoyne, plus Route 163 and the eastbound signal bridge at Turnpike. For your collection of oddities, the westbound signal bridge at Upper Sandusky survives but new CSX signal heads were installed on it a couple years ago.

There are also numerous surviving lattice-work cantilevers, although some prominent ones have been replaced.

I'm not "qualified" south/east of Marion.

I would not waste time, CSX signal crews are moving north out of Columbus at a very rapid rate...
