NYC on ex NYC street trackage!

Sucker hole opened up when train was about 1/2 mile away and lasted for the passage of most the train. Signs of the work going on next week here are easily seen, and a pile of ties was sitting right in a perfect spot for these shots! Enjoy

NYC on NYC trackage with PRR position light signals. They were installed after rhe PC merger and the line became part of the Fort Wayne Division.

Is this mainline trackage? How many trains per day roll through there?

This part of the NS Marion District (Indiana) see around 14 in 24 hours, single track main line , and for those who like the mixed freight, thats about all you will see here other than a few grain and occasional ethanol unit trains.

The Marion District (Branch for some of us still) is quite the piece of railroad... here are some shots from last summer.
