Interesting stuff in former Reading Co Land.
Author: jim6300loco

This last few days I didn't get to do my usual railfanning. What I Did get to see and participate in was interesting. I shot a few trains ,but The big surprise was when the President of the new Allentown & auburn called and said he needed two bodies to help operate a piece of equipment that required 4 men. I said what and he said Just come on over and see. Well I got a hold of Beertrain and we drove to Topton, Pa the eastern terminus of the A&A. I suspected that he brought a "Gandy Dancer" on Line. sure enough he did and we took it for a test run on the 4.4 mile A&A.We went to Kutztown & back in under an hr. That included time to stop and inspect some structures on the line that need some work.
Then I saw on TO that The R&N pulled the former Reading Co. T-1 4-8-4 2102 out of the Shop and put it on display up at Port Clinton, Pa. S this morning Beertrain and I check it out also. I still remember the days on the BM&R when we use to run the big T-1 what a magniciant Machine. and it was home built in the Reading Shops in Reading Pa.
So here are pics of Trains and a Gandy dancer and a Reading Co. T_1 Without it's headlight.

Good shots. I want to get up to see the T1 too. Do you know how long it's going to be sitting out. May get up tomorrow.

Good to see a bit of a view of the former CB&Q Business Car, "Round up" a modernized heavyweight with Budd style corrugation applied on the exterior. A very rare car.

Interesting. I had never heard that about the "Roundup" and Pennsylvania Station.

You can see four propane tank holders under the skirt, that alone (propane tanks) on board would restrict it from entering Pennsylvania Station also.
