A short video... Lynchburg, VA

From this past Saturday in Lynchburg, Virginia. This train was so quiet I
almost missed it...

It was. It's single track now.

Nice video, Jay. Northbound trains can indeed sneak up on you because they go through a tunnel under Columbia Ave just before crossing the bridge.

Thanks everyone! I have videos from both sides with trains coming toward me.
They'll get posted eventually. I was looking at that tunnel on google maps
Andrew and got to wondering if I could video them coming out of it?

I have a young friend who was a student at Randolph Macon College. She and two friends were walking across that bridge when a train approached. All three jumped. My friend landed several feet down on top of a pillar where the other track had been before its removal. Although she was injured, she called 911 on her cell phone. The other two were killed immediately. Needless to say she transferred to another schoo

When I was shooting from the other side Wat, I was talking to a nice couple
that were walking by. They told me the exact same story and after what you
said I bet it was your friend. Very interesting....
