Eastern Railroad Discussion > To B&O crews/Switch tender at E Brunswick?Date: 07/22/02 07:07 To B&O crews/Switch tender at E Brunswick? Author: cameraman Heard on the radio Sunday afternoon that a switchtender was working at East Brunswick, MD. Anyone know if signal work is going at this location? Or why they needed a switchtender at a CTC location?

Author: cando2716 The reason there is switchtender at East Brunswick is that the interlocking took a direct lightning hit last week. There are maintainers in the process of fixing the problem, but until then switchtender must manually line all moves on both mains and into and out of the yard.
On another interesting note. CM Dispatcher had a code fail at Mexico yesterday, delaying Q134 and Q130 over 2 hours. Signal maintainer had to line all swiches and signals from the tower coordinating with the dispatcher. Made for an interesting operation. CSX really needs to re-man that tower, it would make all moves east out of Cumberland so much easier. cando2716 Date: 07/22/02 09:28 Q130 and Q34 delays Author: pizzaman Those two trains are usually brought out on the main near the WB hump off the WB class tracks. 130 grabs his cars and heads east, 134 takes the rest. Did they really bury him at Mexico Yard yesterday?
