Date: 09/06/14 17:58 Re: Auburn, MA. question Author: mp16 Is Auburn on the P& W or CSX line ? It's. 4.6 miles south of Worcester station on the line to
Webster and New London, so I assume its P&W and would not have that many trains. Or does CSX go through the northern part of Auburn ? Auburn was usually listed in the Official Guide as a NH RR station . Just wondering Date: 09/07/14 04:16 Re: Auburn, MA. question Author: toledopatch Auburn is on the P&W, not CSX, but CSX isn't all that far away.
On a typical day, Auburn could see four train movements -- NR-3 (or NRWO/WONR if they're running again) both ways and a Worcester-based local down to Webster and back. When ethanol is running via the "Green Mountain Gateway," those trains also run through Auburn on their zigzag Willlmantic-Plainfield-Worcester-Providence route, but it has been a while for that to happen.
