LTEX 1420 and NKP 765 on CVSR
Author: GP35

Went out to Northfield, Ohio with my father to visit my uncle Robbie (father's brother) for a few days after Labor Day to see my relatives. I did not plan on doing any railfanning or anything train related at all but my uncle, dad, and I rode the CVSR diesel operated regular excursion from Rockside to Akron on Saturday. It was an overcast and rainy day on Saturday but it was a blast despite the dreary weather. Then on Sunday my uncle Robbie insisted we all go see the NKP 765 and take some pictures since the weather was nice. My uncle knows the area well having been fishing in the area before so we chased it a bit and took pictures at Boston Mill, Jaite, and Brecksville station. The train was going in reverse back to Brecksville being pulled by LTEX GP15-1 numbered 1420. Even though it was in reverse, we all managed to get some decent pictures of the visiting NKP 765 before my father and I departed for home on Sunday afternoon. Hope you enjoy the NKP 765, Gilbert.

Okay, a couple of questions. LTEX 1420, is that an ex-BNSF, ex-BN, nee-Frisco
GP15-1? It's not a CNW, lacks the nose bell, and I haven't heard the UP is
ridding itself of the ex-MoP ones.

What's the history of the dome car and the obs car. Can you buy tickets to
ride in them, or are they open to everyone.

Very nice series of photos, thanks for posting.

LTEX 1420 is former NS 1420/Conrail 1643.
