Eastern Railroad Discussion > Where is it?Date: 09/09/14 12:19 Where is it? Author: JPB And what are the RR / train symbols?
Photo taken Sunday 09/07/14 Degree of difficulty 5.0 out of 10. Date: 09/09/14 12:25 Re: Where is it? Author: wishram Binghamton, NS 22K and 206?
Date: 09/09/14 12:32 Re: Where is it? Author: pennsy3750 Gardner, Mass., 205 and 23k?
Date: 09/09/14 12:40 Re: Where is it? Author: PCCRNSEngr I agree to QD Binghamton, NY. It is on NS due to the white pipes at the ends of the bridge. Shot from Chenango Street Bridge. 22K and 206

Date: 09/09/14 13:20 Re: Where is it? Author: JPB It is indeed NS 206 (NS Dash 9 led train on left towing multilevels) and 22K (CP AC4400 pulling single/double stacks on right) at Prospect St in Binghamton. 206 will shortly take crossover to the right to head to CP to climb Belden Hill to Mechanicville after 22K takes its Taylor Yard (Scranton) cut to CP's Binghamton Yard in Conklin. The 2nd photo shows the same angle forty-some years earlier in the EL days. Sigh.
Note the 22K engine set is the same set shown pulling 23K in the Southern Tier thread below three days earlier. NS 12T was also about to depart for Buffalo from the DL&W side. It's a bit unusual to see this much CP power on NS trains in Binghamton. Usually NS power dominates even on CP in Binghamton. Special request: can whoever cut the hole in the hurricane fence on the east side of the Chenango St Bridge do the same on the west side? The mesh gauge is so small that only extreme zoom shots can be taken, followed by Photoshop cropping. TIA! ;-) Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 09/09/14 13:41 by JPB. Date: 09/09/14 14:08 Re: Where is it? Author: JPB Here's 22K crossing the Susquehanna River into CP's Binghamton Yd to drop the Taylor cuts. About 30 minutes later, after passing CP 253, 22K heads back to its train to continue its trek to Ayer, MA. Five minutes later, CP 253 follows on its way to Mohawk Yd, Saratoga, and Montreal.
A productive hour in sunny Binghamton! Date: 09/09/14 15:48 Re: Where is it? Author: ns1000 GOOD stuff...!!! Thanks for sharing.
