Strasburg VA
Author: holiwood

This afternoon I heard NS E54 headed to Strasburg, VA. I have not seen a train
there in daylight in a long time. E54 pulled 2 boxcars out of RR Donlley siding
and left them setting on yard track. I thought they were going to run around
and take cars but they just headed east without them. So I missed a shot crossing
North Fork of Shenandoah River
This is MP 61 on B-Line, west of Riverton Jct and not much happens out here.
I guess they used power that was available in Manassas and didn't want to
separate it

E54? Could it have been P54?

I thought it should have been a P, but it sounded
like E. Engineer, conductor and dispatcher all sounded
like E54. My hearing could be wrong.
E was first character for locals a long time
ago, then it went to P.

also today Shenandoah Junction was MOW on both railroads

I was on US 15 @ Haymarket the morning of the 22nd, and had to wait for an eastbound local. It had three Dash 9s for power, and only 5 boxcars. NS 9727 was the middle unit of that consist. Didn't catch the other two units though.
