Big Blue was up the branch from Lansdale to Telford, Pa today. Always a treat to listen to the brute working.
First two photos at Meetinghouse Road crossing between Telford and Sellersville.
Last photo southbound through downtown Souderton, Pa.

Sir,
neat photos! glad I am not paying for the fuel on those two motors !! does traffic / track profile/ grades warrant that much horsepower??? I know on the shortline I work for we can move 50 cars at 10mph with one 3000hp SD40-2 or GP40-2 for power. Inquiring minds would like to know not nitpicking just curious.

That c39 is probably just as good if not better on fuel.

The paint scheme on the second unit is interesting. Maybe somebody had an old set of Rio Grande paint diagrams?

Thanks for the pictures of a rarely documented operation.

TO used to have almost daily coverage of this line just after that ex-CN SD40-2W was repainted into that gaudy Rio Grande-esque paint scheme.

Seems like PN is in no hurry to repaint anything else.

Paint doesn't make money, but a running locomotive does!
