But, I was curious about the two geeps that appear to have been rebuilt/refurbished back in the 70's (from the Paducah-esque features). When were these two units retired? Did they last into the 90s?
Date: 09/09/02 18:24 Re: Rebuilt Geeps? Author: MRSLIDES Conrail GP18m 7498 was chopnosed by ICG Paducah. It did not make it into the 90s. I photographed it at Altoona on 5/11/85 as they were preparing to remove the nose for another unit. I can see sister GP18 #7496 behind it. JCB

When I photographed it in 1985 the 7496 was coupled to the 7498.
