Thought to share some Brunswick, Maryland action from Saturday November 15, 2014. It was not real busy during the time I was there. In a six hour time period I noted 15 total train movements.

The movements in order were: Q138-13, Q416-15, N766-12, Q216-13, Q226-13, P030, U703-13, Q398-14, Q217, Q249-15, D787-15, K671-14, E725-14, U857-14, and B667-15 lite helpers.

I have some interesting trains and freight car roster shots to share including D787-15 had a couple of NS units and a CSX GP38-2 for power.

I missed taking a picture of westbound empty tankcar train K671-14 led by rare CSX SD70Ace 4850 and CSX 8594 that passed through Brunswick at 3:00 pm on track 1. I was blocked out by D787-15 on track 2 but was able to see the K671 power pass by from looking in between the D787 freight cars.

There were several other railfans out taking pictures of trains in Brunswick on Saturday. It was a cold but sunny day so the fans were out in force. I tried my best not to invade on the other fans photo spots that they staked out in advance.

First pic is of eastbound intermodal Q138-13 led by CSX 7519 and 643 on track 2 at 10:28 am.

Next two are of westbound Q416-15 led by CSX 5321 and 5294 on number 3 runner that will tie down it's train at Mountain Road. Here it is seen in Brunswick at 11:57 am.

Top pic is eastbound coal train N766-12 led by CSX 86 and 381 passing through the Cattle Pen on it's way to a stop in the area of the west end of the Marc parking lot. Time was 12:15 pm.

Next two pics are of eastbound autorack Q216-13 led by CSX 3068, CEFX 3111, and CSX 6080 passing by the stopped N766-12 coal train at 12:20 pm.

Next two are of eastbound autorack Q226-13 led by CSX 7665 and 9042 passing through at 12:43 pm.

Bottom pic a roster shot of the lead unit on the parked N766-12. 12:55 pm

Top pic is eastbound Capitol Limited P030 led by Amtrak 153 and five SuperLiners at 1:07 pm.

Next two are of eastbound U703-13 led by CSX 3172 and 124 getting a quick crew change at Maple Avenue at 1:38 pm. This train is bound for the RF&P in Virginia.

Next three are of eastbound Q398-14 led by CSX 7826 and 978 on track 1 at 1:57 pm. Shot was taken at the western end of the Marc parking lot.

I'm not positive but I believe this is the air compressor complex that supplies air to some of the trains that park in the area of the western end of the Marc parking lot. Interesting, I never took pictures of it until Saturday afternoon.

Next two are of westbound autorack Q217 I believe and is led by CSX 7689 and 4420 passing through at 2:30 pm.

Next three are of eastbound D787-15 led by NS 1057, NS 6155, and CSX 2504 on track 2 Maple Avenue at 2:50 pm. Fans went bonkers over this train with foreign power. This train brought it's train from Cumberland, Maryland and will drop off it's train in Brunswick Yard before heading back to Cumberland.

Top pic is westbound emtpy coal train E725-14 led by CSX 3131 and 3134 passing the Maple Avenue crossing at 3:27 pm.

Middle pic is of eastbound loaded coal train U857-14 led by CSX 432 and 4701 passing Maple Avenue at 3:33 pm. This train will get B667 helpers at East Brunswick.

Last pic is the B667-15 helpers with CSX 5384 and 761 that pulled out of the yard onto track 2 and will head east to attach to the rear of U857-14 stopped at East Brunswick. Time was 3:44 pm.

Very nice collections of photos. Real nice lighting and nice composition. Do you know anything about the old concrete remains to the left of photo #1?

Hi John, I'm not sure what the concrete remains are but I'll take a guess it is some sort of coaling trestle where coal cars dumped coal for use in the yard or elsewhere perhaps. Hopefully someone can answer this interesting question. Take care, Gilbert.

Love the freight car pics - keep them coming please. I'm one of those weird guys who is far more interested in whats beehind the engines than the engines themselves. Keep an eye out for BISX, DJJX, DJTX, JTIX, JTSX, and FTC marks - would love to see any of those you see, regardless of level of graffiti

I as well like the pics of the freight cars. Don't see them that often. Wondering if the concrete structure near the tracks has anything to do with the C&O Canal which also is near by, or if this was constructed exclusively for and by the old B&O Railroad.
