NS rack train 29A just went NB by the house in Wyandotte, MI. The train was lead by two light grey with small blue stripes EMD SD type locos and two NS black units. Numbers for the grey units are 3093 and 3081. The NS units - 6199 and 9204. Train had 364 axles of empty autoracks. I could not discern any reporting marks on the first two locos....Anyone?

PS have not spotted the #331 with all of that foreign power yet....but then again I slept in.

Sounds like the GCFX "stealth" SD40's that have been on lease to CSX. They are starting to get some much needed color on them with those stripes.

That would probably be two GCFX rebuilt SD40 (to SD40-2 by Alstom in Montréal). CSX has several of these on long-term lease (FURX 3000-3049, GCFX 3053-3102, CEFX 3103-3152).

Alternatively, maybe it could be some HLCX SD40, but it is more likely that they are GCFX.

3093 is THE unit of these to get - it is a rebuilt former BNSF/BN/GN SDP40. One of only 4 still around.
