Kingly Images from MLK Day
Author: TrainCatcher

A couple odd trains early and fighting the clouds middle and late day in NE Indiana made for some good images on this holiday Monday. A slow day for train numbers led to us shooting 11 trains and not seeing too many more.

EB CSX train K270 (odd symbol - short tank car train) coming out of the fog hovering over Auburn, IN with CP 8780 & CSX 3091 handling a 300 axle train at CR35 on the CSX Garrett Sub at 0912.

We then spent the rest of the day around Butler, IN where the former Wabash & NYC (now NS) lines cross.

EB NS roadrailer 264 at Butler, IN with UP 6019 & NS 2769 at 1004 on the former Wabash.

Eastbound odd NS train 66T at W. Butler with NS 7616, CN 8824 & BNSF 6840 from CR57 at 1054 with 96 cars.

EB NS Elkhart to Bryan, OH local, B30 at E. Butler with 30 cars at 1120 on track 1 of the former NYC double main.

Eastbound NS train 64W at the milepost 355 NYC signals with BNSF 4614 & 9349 handling the oil train at 1140.

Westbound NS intermodal train 21T under a beautiful cloud at W. Edgerton, Ohio at 1405 with NS 8345 & UP 5495.

A couple odd trains early and fighting the clouds middle and late day in NE Indiana made for some good images on this holiday Monday. A slow day for train numbers led to us shooting 11 trains and not seeing too many more (shots 7 - 9).

Westbound NS 80 car grain train, 51Q, at E. Butler with a trio of NS wide ones: 8054, 9457 & 9550 at 1424.

The gates at CR 75 didn't make it back up after the 51Q cleared because NS train 35N followed 21T (onto the darkside Wabash) on 2 track with NS 6792 & 8804 at 1426.

WB NS mixed freight train 309 on the west side of Butler under heavy cloudage at 1538 with NS 9483 & 6744 easily managing the 33 cars.

a real nice series of photos. In photo #6 you have white clouds, some white snow and white in the train. All together they make a nice photo.
