Molasses in January
Author: TrainCatcher

A cold slow moving day in NE Indiana today with the train count way down - at one point the NS dispatcher told a MofW employee that it was a "very slow day." Plenty of sunshine for the trains that were running.

Eastbound CSX mixed freight, Q380 at West Garrett with CSX' 7856, 8603 & 7903 at 1027.

Eastbound CSX western coal train, N492, with a pair of UP winged 6000's at West Garrett, IN on the former B&O at 1101.

Eastbound CSX western coal train, N820, with a BNSF SD70ACe 9234 and SD70M 8980 at Auburn, IN at 1256.

A cold slow moving day in NE Indiana today with the train count way down - at one point the NS dispatcher told a MofW employee that it was a "very slow day." Plenty of sunshine for the trains that were running (final 3).

Westbound NS intermodal train, I05, west of Butler, IN with NS 8985 & 1058 at 1608 at former CR 49.

Westbound CSX mixed freight, Q393, at Avilla, IN on the CSX Chicago Line with the right one in the lead - UP 7629 and a trio of CSX': 7918, 4830 & 726 at 1656 from Hill Road.

Eastbound CSX mixed freight, Q368-27, at West Garrett, IN with Ferromex 4664, CSX 7873, FURX 3022 and 4 more CSX GE's: 7608, 7820, 5313 & 698 at 1705 ending the day where it started (across a snowy field filled with soy bean stalks).

At least it was some colorful molasses!
