Oil train double-take on the Bayard
Author: PCTZ

With NS rebuilding the CF&E, more oil trains (and freights) continue east on the former PRR. Most oil trains now (especially if they have foreign power and as not to have to add a cab signal leader) take the old Bayard branch south of Alliance, OH. Saturday Feb28, 2015 was such a day, first up was a NS 66Z-26 with 3 UP units and a few hours later NS 66X-26 with 2 UP units, both seen here at Bayard, OH. It's interesting since neither train is off the UP; 66Zs come off the BNSF and 66Xs off CN or CP. New signals are currently being installed on this line, it will be interesting what the future holds.

That first oil train appears to have a trio of SD90MACS? What a rare catch.

Most likely the UP power came off at Conway.

Thats awesome! Also have the nose door window. Many have a big rusty patch there.
