NYS&W Rural/Street Scenes & A Faithful Bud
Author: ut-1

I caught the crew today en route from Utica to Sangerfield, NY at Richfield Junction, Paris Station and, later in the day, as they made a second trip southbound on Schuyler Street, Utica, to service a customer in New York Mills.

Richfield Junction marks the spot where the DL&W's Richfield Springs line diverged off the Utica line. It is approx 22 miles to Richfield Spa from this point. In its hay day, Richfield Jct had a station, water tower and a team track. There is also a wye here. Only 1 mile of the Richfield Spa branch trackage remains intact, the remaining tracks being removed about 1994.

The faithful bud? Well, my curly-coated retriever always seems eager to accompany me on these jaunts, hasn't complained yet, so I thought I'd throw in a photo of him as we prepared to head out following the NYS&W 3040.

Great photos! I used to take my beagle 'Madle' with me a lot before she go too old to get around well. She spent many a night with me and friends at CP88 in Bethlehem PA back in the early 2000's.

Is that a Quebec, North Shore and Labradoodle?

Lol, no, he's a curly-coated retriever, a very old and rare English breed.
