after looking at this picture I could not figure out what that was coming out of the top of the building in the back ground. Then I realized it was a wind sock in the foreground. To bad this thing couldn't be riding on EMD SD60 trucks, too

Curious as to whats the holdup on these units? They seem to have been in this unfinished state for a very long time. Havent seen one in full paint yet.

These units are getting more tests done on them (emissions, etc.). NS 8501/8502 are in Altoona right now.

Nice pic!!

NS still hasn't figured out, even with a fresh coat of paint, that you can't polish a turd. :-)

LMFAO!  I guess your right on that one!  It doesnt take THAT long to emission test a few locomotives!

Cool photo!  That unit could almost be photoshopped with Route Rock logos and put John Ingrams name on the side for h.u. 21.....   Okay, maybe not.  Thank you for posting, KG.

It does seem that something isn't going right with this program.  The gestation seems way too long.  Nobody has yet figured out how to rebuild a GE in terms of longevity and cost effectiveness.

Ferromex may have some Super 7 rebuilt GEs still but yes, in general it seams like GEs have only one life to live and then they are done as opposed to EMDs being rebuilt sometimes multiple times. In full NS paint this may look kinda cool.
