Position Light Signals- compare/contrast
Author: CGTower

Compare and contrast in Lima, Ohio yesterday.

Photo 1: Position Light: Early morning clear signal at Sugar Street interlocking for a westbound CF&E grain train on the former PRR.

Photo 2: Color Position Light: Approach Limited (the marker light is flashing) at "NS" Tower for northbound CSX train Q134 on the former B&O.

Trains crews on the old B&O (CSX) with ther color position light signals are not enthralled with the new signals.  They claim, and I can understand, that the old style color position light signal is easier to see.

Nothing beats B&O and PRR position light signals.  Thanks for the excellent photos.  Keep 'em coming!

I am so glad I don't work for a RR that uses these signals...
