Eastern Railroad Discussion > Q165/Q166 QuestionDate: 04/22/15 23:22 Q165/Q166 Question Author: SD70M Hi folks,
I'm coming across from the UK in a few days, I wondered if the above trains are still running. Last year they ran as a daily stack train in both directions, typically powered by two CP GE's. I heard through the grapevine that latterly these trains have been running with autoracks and sometimes general manifest cars. I know that CP has capacity issues on its trains on the NS- is this still the case? Cheers, Dave Date: 04/23/15 02:00 Re: Q165/Q166 Question Author: IC1026 They are getting back on CP trackage as of this fall. Catch em while u can.

Posted from Android Date: 04/23/15 04:12 Re: Q165/Q166 Question Author: toledopatch The operation of these trains is somewhat erratic, but the best bet is a morning departure from Chicago for Q166 and a midday departure from Buffalo for Q165. I have seen boxcar traffic filling out the rear of Q165 and have heard of (but not seen) racks on Q166. CP wanted to run DPUs on these trains but CSX would not permit it.

Posted from Android Date: 04/23/15 08:52 Re: Q165/Q166 Question Author: Mastadon Q165 arrived in Bensenville yesterday morning around 0830. Power was a CP/UP pair of GEs. There was a healthy amount of mixed manifest freight on the rear of the train following the usual intermodal.

Are you referring to its old routing over NS from Detroit - Butler - Chicago? Andrew Posted from iPhone Date: 04/23/15 11:34 Q165/166 Author: NS9743 Earlier question about these trains a response said that they are going back to CP routing next fall. Is this true anyone know?

Posted from iPhone Date: 04/23/15 18:04 Re: Q165/166 Author: IC1026 Lol I hope with Bellevue Terminal Yard getting bigger than Selkirk we may get almost 30 trains a day. We see 24-26 depending on delays and reroutes.
