The Lackawanna Heritage Unit is leading 66z East. Should be getting close to Pittsburgh as I type this.

So if someone were between Johnstown and Pittsburgh headed west on 22, where should someone head to catch this train?
Thanks!!

Greensburg maybe.  You have to take 66 or 119 I believe south from 22 to route 30

Depends on its route East of Pittsburgh. It should run the Conemaugh Line but, on rare instances they run them on the main to Johnstown. If it does run the Conemaugh, it will not go thru Greensburgh.
Your best bet is to catch it East of Johnstown.

Oh yeah didn't think about that.   I think 22 goes over that line by Blairsville, but I am not sure on Photo locations.

Thanks guys! We're in Blairsville now and trying to figure out what we should do. If someone could post what route its on we'd appreciate it!!

I'm on the Conemaugh at West Tarentum (MP 57). If and when it passes me I'll post it.
All I can add right now is they just lined the route for a Eastbound, it should be 66z.

Thanks EH49. We decided to keep heading west for Pburgh to catch the 20W with the PRR (By we I mean my brother and dad wanted to keep heading west, I was overruled). Maybe we'll still catch the DLW somewhere but who knows.
Thanks again everyone!!

For those interested, 66z is on the Conemaugh following a grain train.

A friend of mine is texting me from Conpit Junction....Apparently a 66R is having engine troubles at the East end of the Conemaugh Line and may have to get a helper ahead...which will back things up behind him on the Conemaugh Line including the 66Z...

20W should be unaffected as he is coming Mainline..Dave W

Well...the lead engine on the 66R that started the whole delay is supposed to stop at Cresson to fuel its leader...which may slow things further...Dave W.

Looks like the loading tracks at Linden are just getting a new shove of incoming crude cars as of 4pm.  I didn't stay around long enough to be sure.

If that's the case, I'd expect the 66z with the 1074 might take a sojourn in Bethlehem until the (Chemical) Coast is clear for it. Doubtful it will make an overnight run into NJ
