JWR Date: 05/03/15 17:34 Re: CSX - Depew, NY Author: mbutte The CSX signal conversion project continues to move west toward Buffalo, but so far there is no immediate indication that CP 431's classic NYC-era 4-track signal bridge will be gone soon.
Date: 05/03/15 18:38 Re: CSX - Depew, NY Author: birdman I use a Nikon D90 with a 24-70mm lens. The D90 is a DX body with a less than full size sensor so the lens is the equivalent to 36- 105mm. For rail photography, I usually choose shutter priority at about 1/500th of a second to stop any motion, set the ISO as low as possible, put the white balance on automatic unless it is very cloudy or the subject is in deep shade, and auto focus on continuous for moving subjects. I shoot jpegs at the large and fine parameters. I often do a little post processing using the iphoto program on the Mac computer. I may crop, sharpen a little, boost the highlights slightly, etc.
