Sorry if the header got your attention but I am curious if CSX is in the middle of a hostile takeover by CP or if it being "raided " by some wild and crazy investor. Could anyone update us on the situation? Thank you.

Ah, but is Bill Ackman attempting to gain a position?  Recent reports would so indicate, and would he be doing that in order to "encourage"a merger?

Mr. Ackman appeared on CNBC this afternoon. Someone has been buying CSX stock, and there was a lot of speculation that it was Ackman's group. He also has a speaking engagement Wednesday and many people that he would announce a take over bid for CSX.

However, today he announced that his announcement tomorrow would have nothing to do with CSX. CSX stock declined after his announcement. He did not say if he might mention another railroad, like say NS.

It might be more pertinent to ask, is the CSX still having to run single stack container trains into Baltimore account lack of clearances?    BSB
