LLPX GP38s

I\'m looking for current shots of LLPX GP38s but can\'t seem to find any through Google. Are all of these in a standard blue and white scheme? Are all ex-CSX? Thanks in advance for any help.

No, they are not all blue and white.

No, they are not all former CSX.

Here are two examples for you.

The LLPX GP38s in the 2000 series are ex-CSX. I know there are a few that have not been repainted. The ones numbered in the 2200 series are ex-Long Island, I believe. They have all been repainted into a UP inspired paint scheme.

LLPX has had a number of ex NS (SOU) GP38\'s rebuilt to GP38-2 standards (and chopnosed). These are blue/white and many went to Rail America. Others like Gary\'s shot of 2214 are former GTW (and DT&I) GP38AC\'s and GP38\'s also rebuilt to Dash 2 standards and retrofitted with dynamic brakes and painted in the yellow scheme. They also have true GP38-2\'s in the 2200 series(like that ex BRC unit). Others are former LIRR and some former UP (C&NW) units retrofitted with dynamic brakes - these are yellow too. I have quite a few shots of these units - unfortunately I have no scanner...

Gary, I caught that #2228 on the point of a ballast train through Cordele, GA a couple of weeks ago. It has one of the loudest horns I\'ve ever heard...and still managed to almost get a Honda Civic (complete with driver) plastered onto the snowplow!

PS- If I didn\'t know any better, I\'d say you took the picture of the 2214 on the ex. CofG "ribbon of rust" when it toured the line with that ill-fated fiber optics train...moving at the almighty speed of 2-5mph.

Loads of them here, in several paint schemes. Enter LLPX in the search engine.

Here\'s another, this time on the SLR, at Lewiston Jct. ME, in August, 2001. This particular unit is an ex-LIRR -2(with dynamics added when rebuilt). The square plates in the class light area mark the former LIRR units.
