Eastern Railroad Discussion > Any CR units no with CSX/NS numbers?Date: 01/23/03 18:41 Any CR units no with CSX/NS numbers? Author: Pj Are there any units left that have not been renumbered with CSX or NS numbers (excluding the shared assests)?

Author: dtidave Actually, what was once overrun by the GP15-1\'s and GP40-2\'s in the Sterling Yard of the CSA north of Detroit, is now pretty much all CSX power. Some renumbered blue babys out there still, and I haven\'t seen any horses yet, but mostly overrun by CSX-livery units. Don\'t know how it\'s going closer to Detroit. Sterling is pretty much northernmost-Conrail.
Take care and God bless! DTIDave Date: 01/23/03 20:38 Re: Any CR units no with CSX/NS numbers? Author: toledopatch The SD70s, which as explained above were originally numbered into the CR 2557 series so they would match an existing NS series, are the only "unrenumbered" ex-Conrail units on either roster.

Larry Date: 01/24/03 08:12 Re: Any CR units no with CSX/NS numbers? Author: csxt4617 I believe all the shared assetts stuff got
renumbered too, didn\'t it? In 2001, there was a couple Conrail GP38\'s stored at Huntington WV that hadn\'t been renumbered yet, but those may have went to LLPX in the big trade. (I don\'t remember if the trade was before then or not...I saw them in Huntington in late July during the C&OHS convention tour). Most of the engines that went to NS were renumbered when the splitup was ok\'d, so they were pretty much all renumbered by day 1, and CSX renumbered their part of the engines fairly quickly too. Probably within 3 or 4 months (that\'s about when I quit seeing CR numbers) Date: 01/24/03 16:57 Re: Any CR units no with CSX/NS numbers? Author: Larry576 Yes LLPX got 2 or 3 GP38\'s that CSX hadn\'t renumbered. LLPX has recently shopped and renumbered most of these for their lease fleet.
Larry Date: 01/24/03 20:00 Re: Any CR units no with CSX/NS numbers? Author: joelaveda CR 7717 was at Huntington last February as a parts candidate.
One GP38 and a few SW1500\'s that didn\'t get renumbered still sitting in the back lot at NRE-Paducah that were shipped there as part of the LLPX deal. Surely an industrial has one out there that hasn\'t had the paint touched...or something sitting at Juniata or Enola that hasn\'t been touched, isn\'t there? |
