Eastern Railroad Discussion > B&M: Cabooses and Running BoardsDate: 06/30/15 05:03 B&M: Cabooses and Running Boards Author: nydepot My question related to any cabooses with running boards but seen as this is the Eastern Board, I'll realte it to the B&M.
I've been watching some DVDs of late and noticed that many B&M cars kept their running boards after the final date of 1983 for running boards being removed. These weren't cars sitting on sidings rotting away; they were in use on trains. Were you able to get a waiver for after 1983 on cabooses? I haven't found much on the internet but did read an article on the UP working to get their caboooses in compliance by 1983. Was there an "overlooking" of cabooses with running boards by the FRA?
