The hair raising experience of watching, and listening to no less that five Alco models Thundering out of town on a almost 2% climb out of Scranton!

As I recall the Scranton situation, freight trains don't get much of a head start before they hit a grade - in either direction.

Nothing like it. From time to time I will travel the two hours to Scranton to get my Alco "fix"

Gotta love it.  Only thing I can even think of that compares to it is, being on the flight deck of an Air Craft Carrier during flight ops at night. All you're senses are active. From sight to sound, feel, smell, and even taste. This is why I will always love ALCO's. Only the GE Uboats come close. Thanks for sharing Ed.  Ben

Thanks for sharing Ed!  Any chance of getting a cab ride out of town?
