Date: 02/26/03 09:18 Re: Zoo Tower & Other Towers Author: oaksmodelrr I believe CETC controls ZOO now but North Philly is still manned. Holmes, Shore and the others around Philadelphia are empty.
Date: 02/26/03 09:34 Re: Zoo Tower & Other Towers Author: Lackawanna484 Is Delair Tower still attended?
(Delair\'s on the NEC, north of Philadelphia. It controls the rail bridge over to Camden and Pavonia Yard. It\'s also used by NJT\'s Atlantic City trains) Date: 02/26/03 09:50 Re: Zoo Tower & Other Towers Author: Cdr.Dick Zoo Tower is still manned as is Union Tower at Rahway N.J. The Delair Bridge and the Darby Drawbridge are both under control of the Delair Brige operator, the Darby Draw is remotely cotrolled. There is still an operator at North Philly on the NEC and he shares control of the railroad in conjunction with Amtrak CETC-6
Date: 02/26/03 09:52 Re: Zoo Tower & Other Towers Author: NORAC There is also Dock which is on the north side of Newark Penn Station. Up to last year at least Hudson was still in service.

Zoo N. Philly Union Elmora Hunter Dock Hudson Portal (still open?) Overbrook (Remote for Valley) Bryn Mawr (still open?) Paoli Thorn (Remote for Frazer, Downs, Caln, Park?) Cork Harris (or is it State? - I forget) The Penn Station towers, along with F and Harold are closed and are now under joint control by LIRR and Amtrak from NY Penn Station Central Control on 9th Ave and 31st St. Union-Portal is also dispatched from there. There are CTEC Desks for the New England Division, N. Philly-Union, and several desks for the territory from NY Ave to Zoo. Zoo has long been deemed too complex for the computer system and one man operation. We\'ll see if it is ever cut-over. I\'ll have to check later to make sure I got this straight. Andy Byler Date: 02/26/03 11:49 Re: Zoo Tower & Other Towers Author: alexandercasset Hudson is slated to be closed "soon". I can confirm:
Union Hunter Dock Hudson as being manned as of Jan 10. Greg Date: 02/26/03 12:23 Re: Zoo Tower & Other Towers Author: Lackawanna484 Is Lincoln Tower in Metuchen still open?

> Harris (or is it State? - I forget) It\'s "STATE", which is located inside the Harrisburg Station. "HARRIS" is located just west of the station and is owned by the Harrisburg Chapter NRHS. The tower is open to visitors during weekends in the summer (check the NRHS website). It also has the model board from the 1940\'s nearly intact and a computer simulation under construction that will enable a "virtual operating session" using the original levers and indications. http://www.nrhs.com -PRR 5711 Date: 02/26/03 17:02 Re: Zoo Tower & Other Towers Author: sig292 Lincoln tower is not manned and Hunter tower has been torn down!
Ken Gear Date: 02/26/03 18:49 Re: Zoo Tower & Other Towers Author: timz And Elmora is gone-- I thought it was torn down a few years ago. Maybe even ten?
Date: 02/26/03 19:05 Re: Zoo Tower & Other Towers Author: Lackawanna484 Agree on Elmora being torn down, I though that was about 1994.
Can anybody confirm? Date: 02/26/03 19:19 Accurate List - Re: Zoo Tower & Other Towers Author: abyler Section A has Pelham Bay, Jervis, Inwood, Allied, and Portal.
PSCC has everything from Gate and Empire to Bergen Except, Q and R towers in Sunnyside Yard are still in operation, and R also remotes Loop. Then three towers: Hudson (also remote for Swift) Dock (also remote for Cliff, hunter, Haynes, and Lane) Union (also remote for Elmora) CTEC-8 has Iselin to Midway CTEC-7 has Ham to Morris CTEC-6 has Grundy to Shore Then one tower: North Philadelphia CTEC-6 then has Mantua and Girard, which used to be part of Zoo Then one tower: Zoo CTEC-5 has Penn CTEC-4 has Phil to Yard CTEC-3 has Ragan to Magnolia CTEC-2 has Gunpow to Charles CTEC-1 has Fulton to Avenue Then one tower: K Tower (also remote for C and A) Out to Harrisburg, we have Zoo with remote control of Stiles, Paxon, and Woodbine. From Zoo, there are six towers left: Overbrook (also remote for Valley) Paoli (also remote for Bryn Mawr) Thorn (also remote for Frazer, Glen, Downs, and Caln) Park Cork State (also remote for Roy) So 14 towers still in operation. Andy Byler Date: 02/27/03 09:05 Re: Zoo Tower & Other Towers Author: HuskerHank Thanks for all of the information. I was just curious after watching a train video on the corridor.
