where is 287 now? lead unit is 1074, theres a train lined down the NKP now, it could be 145 but i hardly see 145 at this time through my area (sheffield lake) wonder if NS decided to route it the old way again...

Was informed the 287 was "supposed" to take the NKP to Bellevue. 145 has been going that route lately. Hope you can get it. Nice sun today...

Just saw on HU 287 thru Berea at 1253. Safe to say she took the NKP to the Cloggsville connection where she then picked up the Chicago Line. Beautiful sun for westbound train today.

287 "normally" has been a ex-NKP routed train. Changed the script it looks today.
Maybe it has to drop or pick up cars at Fairlane in Lorain, as it took the Cloggsville connection & shows in Brookpark as stated. btw.. it's mostly cloudy up here.

when did 287 start taking the NKP again? ever since they started dropping autoracks for avon at Fairlane to go out on a local (i think they quit doing that and sending them to bellevue to be put on L22) its been going the NYC ever since to bellevue via cloggsville. unless 287 has been coming in the wee hours of the morning the only trains we see to my knowledge even on a sporatic bases are 310/309/877/850/66N/67N/145/316 every once in a while we will see 11V or 15K

I heard one recently, but not sure how regular.
Also, it should pick up along that route, as the Avon Ford plant recently received the transfer of some vehicles, from Mexico.

And yes, saw an 877 on Saturday on the route.

205/206 and 22/23K as well.

He means NKP east of Cleveland, takes it daily. Never seen one in the last few months take it all the way.

Um, 287 has used the NKP east of Cleveland for as long as that symbol has existed out of Buffalo. There is no point in discussing that - NS doesn't have any other route between Cleveland and Buffalo. So any discussion of whether that train is "using the NKP" only applies rationally to the NKP between Cloggsville and Vermilion.
 

287 from when i was seeing it has never picked up (oddly enough) loaded autoracks are sent to south lorain yard to catch L22 to Bellevue, and then they go on L14 to fostoria (generally)

Picked up, not as of yet, but dropped off in Avon, yes. Have seen that myself.
