Today's Q398
Author: dharris

Wandered up to Martinsburg today to do a little poking around (that town has enough spurs and sidings for three towns) and saw Q398 come by with:

CSX 8815- SD40
HLCX 8150- SD40
CSX 6531- GP40
CSX 2255- ex GP30 Slug
CSX 6903- GP40
CSX 2329- ex GP30 Slug

Not a wide cab in sight! Caught it again going in to Brunswick and the westbounder train coming out the 398 met at Weverton looked just like it- all older power. Picture was taken at Bradane, just west of Shenadoah Junction.

Looks like they were ferrying the GP40/GP30 mother-slug combos somewhere. Were the GP40\'s online? If so, I bet this train sounded sweet as it went past.

Looks like I just missed you. I was on the U82212, which was the next train behind that day\'s Q398. They had another Mother/Slug set, but it was set off at Hancock, presumably as power for the Hancock helper.
I had those 3 lead engines, the 8815 and HLCX 8150 as power on the return trip back to Cumberland on the Q261-18.
