TBT: 2006 part 2 Semaphores I have loved.

Salem to Mitchell, Indiana.  Spent many summer days there.  Darn chiggers.

Wait, CP rights power rolling into Salem and to New Pekin, IN.  Nice!

4-5. West of Mitchell, the UP led rack train was waiting to do a manuver at the interlocking wye and head east on the CSX Hoosier Sub

6. Yay, CP power again, this time in bad light though.

7-8.  Another rack train the next day, sadly in dark rain clouds.  Nialed em at the Saltilo, IN semaphores that still stand.

9. Yay, finally got UP power and my semaphores.

10. Still amazed I got to these ones just outside Salem in time...

11-12. Spartan cab heads west in near darkness and rain.  But I was not going to miss this, I knew the semaphores' time was not long (longer than expected, but sadly now mostly gone).

16. Leaving Mitchell headed to Illinois, IIRC.

17-18. The next day it was finally sunny, but light was not always my friend in my quest.

19-20. Still glad I took the shots.

21. Finally, one last one.  I think until I would chase the INRD in it's final days, this was last great series of chases I have of those semaphores.

Part 1 is here, in case you are interested in a few images of 844 and CN-ICE in Dubuque, IA: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,3898351

nice catch on trains and blades ... that track is in amazingly good shape for jointed rail and all that heavy traffic ...
